Scripture:
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 Application: Problems have a way of weighing us down, causing us to forget the blessings God gives us every moment of every day. It’s like a black hole. That’s a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. Let’s consider another place in space. The moon. The moon shines because its surface reflects light from the sun. But even the brightest, fullest moon reflects only about 10% of the sunlight that hits it. Don’t let heartaches weigh you down. Instead, let just a fraction of God’s blessings shine, turning your emptiness into fullness. Prayer: First, dear Lord, thank You. I don’t take your blessings for granted. Now, I want to let my gratitude shine before everyone. Amen.

Scripture:
“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19 (NIV) “I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.” John 5:43 (NIV) “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4 (NIV) “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” Revelation 13:14 (KJV) Application: No one will be deceived by Satan unless they allow themselves to be deceived. His easy targets? People who fall for leaders who are pompous, arrogant, and self-promoting. The only Way to avoid being deceived is to believe in Jesus. If you honor Jesus as Lord, you won’t fall to the deceivers. Prayer: Father, thank You for making salvation so simple. I’m so happy to be 100% certain I am saved. But I want more. I pray that as many people as possible won’t be deceived by self-promoting liars. Amen. Scripture:
“In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.” Acts 9:36, 39-40 (NIV) Application: When you pass away, what work of your hands and heart will remain living after you? · Are you an artist, crafting clay, watercolors, words, music, or photographs? · Are you a giver, gifting books, meals, clothing, or tuition to those less fortunate? · Will the church gather and cry, remembering your talents, showing others the blessings of God that sprung forth from your unselfish hands? You have some inner gift that the world may not yet see. It burns within you, yearning for expression. Wake it up! Let it live! It may continue giving and living long after you've passed into glory. Prayer: Dear God, something inside me wants to bless others even after I come to be with You. You know what it is because You put it in me. Help me cultivate this gift. Please let me give it to the world as a long lasting blessing. Amen. |
