Scripture: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) Application: A new year. A new day. A new friend. A new experience. Wow! Let's not be anxious. After all, the same God is in control. Celebrate! Prayer: Father, we look so much forward to this new beginning. Remind us to leave the old baggage at the prayer altar and spring forth into the opportunities of newness. Amen. Scripture: When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:41 NIV. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32 NIV Application: Being familiar with God's Word makes us in tune with His Holy Spirit, Whom confirms the presence of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Walk with Him, fear no more, and rejoice! Prayer: Encourage us daily to hear You, Father. We want to celebrate Jesus among us. Amen. Scripture: So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV) Application: "Whatever you do." There's no greater happiness than to take our food blessings and apply them to everything we do. That includes work, exercise, reading, travel...you name it. An elegance of all-inclusive sharing with God, i.e., giving Him complete access to all that we do, brings unequaled serenity into our lives. Prayer: Father, welcome to all that we do. Please find glory in it. Amen. |
