Scriptural reference: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Colossians 4:6 (ESV) Application: The term "salty language" has come to mean speech that is laced with profanities, degrading remarks, and terminology not fit for all audiences. But biblically speaking, salty speech refers to edifying talk, that is, words that reflect God's grace. Salt has always been one of the world's most desirable spices. A little goes a long way. Choice words are similar. Let's try using fewer words and making more of our words words of Christian encouragement. Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for the gift of speech. Please help me use this gift to show Your love to the world in every interaction I have with others today.
