Scripture: “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort." Luke 6:24 (NIV) Application: Imagine, going through life, and then on your deathbed, hearing this, "I hope you enjoyed your 60, 70, or 80 years of life, because for the rest of eternity, you'll suffer for all the people you oppressed or watched suffer in oppression so that you could live a sumptuous life." Scary? But among us are people who enjoy the best of resources, yet somehow believe they have no responsibility to help others. Could that be any of us? God will have the last Word. Let's pray that we will hear, "‘Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your master’s happiness!" (Matthew 25:21, NIV) Prayer: Lord Jesus, we pray that we will always see that the benefits we have are not solely for our comfort, but also to be used to help the less fortunate. We want to help. By our generosity, You receive glory. Amen. Comments are closed.
