Scripture: "The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.”" - Numbers 21:8 (NIV) “[Hezekiah] removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan. )” 2 Kings 18:4 (NIV) Application: Something may start out glorifying God and become transformed into an idol. Sadly, the same can be true of people, with leaders shifting the glory toward their own agenda instead of God, Who put them into power. We must stay alert and constantly evaluate whether the message or messenger has drifted. Our allegiance is to God, not the objects He uses to bless us. Prayer: Father, give us the power to discern Your truth and integrity, which never change. Amen. Comments are closed.
