What does He stand for?

Scripture:
“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.” Isaiah 53:3 (NIV)

Application:
Jesus bucked tradition. He refused to accept compromise that required Him to be called anything less than Who He was: the Son of God, the King of Kings. That got Him despised. That got Him killed.

But guess what?

All those who opposed Him are dead and mostly forgotten—if not remembered ignominiously. Meanwhile, Jesus is alive and well at God's side…and reigning over all kings. Just like He said. Stand up for what you believe in and kneel for Jesus.

Dear God, please deliver me from the world's trickery and viciousness. Let me have the courage to profess my faith in you when everyone tells me I'm wrong.
