Scripture: “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”” Mark 9:24 NIV Application: Like untying a laced shoe, we sometimes wonder if our history of disappointments causes us to lose the healing we prayed so much to receive. To our credit, we do the right thing by going to the Lord in prayer. With tears in our eyes and wavering voices, we ask Him for help when everything else just doesn't work. And then, sometimes before we even rise from our knees, doubt creeps in. Did we use the right word combination in our prayers? Had our sordid past corrupted our prayers? Are we not worthy enough for healing? Like waiting on a flavor to express itself on our tongues, we wait for any little sign of "UNhealing" to appear. That's unbelief, and, like every other human condition, the Bible has an answer for that, too. Simply ask the Lord to help our unbelief. We must take our unbelieving (or underbelieving) selves to the only One Who can heal everything, and just tell Him. And when doubt creeps in again, leave it with Him. Prayer: Jesus, help our unbelief. Amen. Comments are closed.
