Scripture:
“You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your hand—even your stronger hand—causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.” Matthew 5:27-30 (NLT) Application: Sin begins with your thoughts. Thoughts burrow into the heart, form words, motivate action, and, if you follow the chain of results, ultimately lead to your own death and/or the death of others. Sin, when left to grow, will kill. So whatever thoughts you have that create a rift between you and God, get rid of them. Replace them with Godly thoughts, which will make you think and act in ways far superior and loving than the sinful world is used to. It all begins where you place your mind. Prayer: Dear God, I give You full access to me, soul, body, and mind. Cleanse me of impurities and rescue me from temptation. Amen.
