Scripture: Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on a wound, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. Proverbs 25:20 NIV Application: We can, at times, be overly cheerful. Our joy in Jesus is a splendid gift, but there are many times when our joy can emphasize the sadness in those we want to minister to. We must tone it down sometimes. The beautiful scriptures of "count it all joy" are always true, but not always appropriate when our friends are feeling down. Sometimes, just a silent embrace, a warm smile, or a sincere ear will speak a volume of psalms. Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us learn how to best minister to others without being inadvertently offensive. Amen. Comments are closed.
