Scripture: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV Application: Our hero was beaten, slapped, tortured, humiliated, and made a spectacle in the most degrading way invented. His words were twisted. Authorities mocked Him. When He had a chance to talk His way out of crucifixion, He said nothing. When He had the chance to leap off the Cross, He stayed there hanging. He taught us not to compete against each other, or anyone else, to be the best. He told us that if we were humiliated or hit, let our enemies humiliate and hit us again. We are to befriend the castaways of the world, and not strut around with the rich, beautiful, famous, and powerful people. By all earthly measurements, we are on a team of losers. We are crazy fools, the world says, because we see losses as victories. But we are Christians, and God has made us His own people. Here we are, team. The Victory celebration started when Jesus declared on the Cross, "It is finished." Prayer: Thank You for letting us be on Your team, Lord Jesus, Savior. Amen. Comments are closed.
