Scripture: "Insert the Urim and Thummim into the sacred chestpiece so they will be carried over Aaron’s heart when he goes into the Lord ’s presence. In this way, Aaron will always carry over his heart the objects used to determine the Lord ’s will for his people whenever he goes in before the Lord." Exodus 28:30 NLT "I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:2-3 NLT Application: The Bible answers every question. But we must know how to discern and apply the Word. In the earlier years of just after God's chosen people were freed from slavery, the Israelites didn't have the Bible, and most of them probably couldn't have read it anyway. Tough questions would be presented to the priest and would sometimes be answered after the priest consulted the Urim and Thummim. These were "holy lots." Thank God that now we all have the Bible. Use it, i.e., read it, praying for discernment on how to wisely apply its teachings to our life challenges. Prayer: We are honored to be able to bring our problems to You directly, Lord. Show us how to think and act by enlightening us daily with Your Word. Amen. Comments are closed.
