Scripture: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19 (NIV) From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. Acts 17:26 (NIV) Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’ Zechariah 7:10 (NIV) So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, Acts 8:27 (NIV) Application: When foreigners come to new countries, they rarely leave everything about their old homes behind. Many keep their traditions and contacts, often returning to their old homes with reports of life in their new homes. Have we by our welcome and love shown them the living Gospel? Will they take back good reports of Christianity from our shores? What a wonderful Way to do the Great Commission without leaving our own nations! Prayer: Mold us into disciples who inspire every foreigner we meet to carry back good reports of how Your Word lives in us, and likewise can live in them and their home people, dear God. Amen.
