Scripture: “Also concerning the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel, when he comes from a far country for Your name’s sake (for they will hear of Your great name and Your mighty hand, and of Your outstretched arm)... 1 Kings 8:41-42 NASB Application: When King Solomon dedicated the temple to God, roughly 15-20% of his prayer made references to Israel's interactions with peoples and governments outside Israel. These references were to (1) foreigners who came into Israel, or (2) the fate of Israel's people who for whatever reason (presumably battle) were detained in other lands. This global awareness, 3,000 years ago, is important. Other people observe God's interaction with His chosen people. We Gentiles were once those observers. We came to believe in the God of our Lord even though His own chosen people have fallen away. That's how most people become Christians: observation. For that reason alone, we must be cognizant in our own individual lives how we present our relationship with Jesus Christ to the world. They are watching. Prayer: We pray that our relationship with You will be a strong witness to the world of how dearly You love us. Amen. Comments are closed.
