(naked)Scripture: “For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17 Application: It’s sad, but still so true that people are easily deceived into believing that lies are truths. Even the most obvious and dangerous ones that are grounded in vanity. Riches, power, looks, and so many other things that society adores are all great deceivers. Yet people want to be in step with their neighbors and not seem dumb, unpatriotic, or disloyal to their communities. It's just like the leader and his subjects in Hans Christian Andersen’s story of “The Emperor's New Clothes.” Only a little child called everyone out for the deception and said, "but he isn't wearing anything at all!" We should emulate that child. Prayer: Father, open our eyes to lies, and make us bold enough to call them out, so that others may be saved. Comments are closed.
