Scripture: “…Haman said, “Even Queen Esther let no one but me come with the king to the feast she prepared. And tomorrow also I am invited by her together with the king. Yet all this is worth nothing to me, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.” ” Esther 5:12, 13 ESV “Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated… He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.” Psalm 36:1,2,4 ESV “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” 1 Corinthians 12:7 ESV Application: We all know people who refuse to be happy. They have more blessings than they deserve, yet they obsess on someone else. They judge them, they cultivate hatred for them in their heart, and at night, while everyone else sleeps, they plot and maybe even pray for the destruction of that other person. That’s a totally miserable life. If only they would look at how the Lord has blessed them! If only they could channel all that hatred into ways that they might help others. Because God’s gifts were distributed to every person so that everyone can use their unique skills to bless others. Rise from beds of hate and pray for changed hearts. Prayer: We see the destruction of people and mankind as a whole because of hatred and our human tendency to focus on evil instead of good. Cure us of this, Lord. Wash the evil spirts from anyone who will pause long enough to reconsider their ways and try to change. Amen. Comments are closed.
