Scripture: “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” 1 John 4:20 (NIV) Application: The "4-20" iconography has been applied to profane things, but it should be applied to the most important sacred lesson of all: how to love each other. 1 John 4:20 admonishes us to love each other, and if we refuse to, reevaluate our claim that we love God. That hits hard. We can learn to love each other by first developing our loving relationship with Jesus. If it's genuine, we can't help but see others as He does: with love. That's 4-20 in action. Prayer: Dear, loving Father, please teach us to love each other, and to demonstrate this love by our actions. Amen. Comments are closed.
