Test the spirits

Scripture:
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1 KJV


By this you may know (perceive and recognize) the Spirit of God: every spirit which acknowledges and confesses [the fact] that Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [actually] has become man and has come in the flesh is of God [has God for its source];
1 John 4:2 AMPC


Application:
There are many good-sounding spiritual doctrines out there. They may sound godly and even mention Jesus. But is Jesus being compromised ? Test them.

• Is Jesus Christ the Only Son of God, Who lived as a man on earth, died for our sins, and was raised from the dead by God?
• Does the doctrine say that this same Jesus Christ is now in heaven, and will return to earth to gather His followers and destroy Satan?

If the good-sounding spiritual doctrine fails the the "Jesus" test, it’s false prophecy. Delete it.
Remember this: we don't get closer to God by lifting up ourselves and demoting Jesus. It's just the opposite. We get closer to God by humbling ourselves and exalting Jesus.

Thank You Father for giving us the freedom of choice. Also thanks for giving us the exact tools needed to detect and avoid false spirits. Amen.
