“Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.” Galatians 6:4 NLT “and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”Matthew 3:17 ESV Application: You may be female, trans, male, or of any other sexual or gender classification. You may be a “house spouse,” senator, plumber, heart surgeon, or of no occupation at all. You may be from a Southern or Northern nation, of Western or Developing Country culture, or of no identified culture. Able-bodied, challenged, or somewhat in-between. A criminal, a judge, or average citizen. You may be Christian, atheist, agnostic, or someone who drifts in and out of religion. Only one thing is certain: You are you, and God loves you right now, as you are. No matter what others say, He loves you as much as He loves anyone. He puts no earthly person above you. He has created you and put you on earth for a special reason. He wants to have a relationship you. He wants you to share with His other beloved ones the gifts He gave you. He wants you to come to Him exactly as you are. Right now. As with anyone else—and everyone else—God will gently show you where you need work. If you resist, He’ll exert more pressure for you to work harder, but never harder than you are capable. He’ll keep doing this for as long as you invite Him to work with you. If you choose to reject Him, He will leave you alone, but He won’t stop loving you. And He will be all around you. For as long as you live, He’ll be there ready to work with you, and help you along the way. Why? God loves you so much that He wants to shape you into the image of the Person He declared to be His Son, Jesus the Christ, Whom God loves and is well-pleased. How far we are from Jesus is the only comparison we need to be concerned about. Prayer: Dear Father, we want to be more like Jesus. Help us to never compare ourselves to anyone else, and instead do our best every day to become more like Jesus. Amen. Comments are closed.
