Application:
Of course we all want to be stars! But what kind? Do we want to be selfish, prideful, never-satisfied glory seekers? If so, that's a guaranteed path to destruction. But if we want to live as encouragers, helping the destitute, the victims of abuse, and serving the Lord using the unique gifts He has given us, then we are set for an inward peace that the whole world needs.
No matter our profession or gift, it can be used to give hope to a crooked and perverse planet.
Shine on.

Lord, show us how we can shine brightest and most contented right now and each day of our lives. Amen.
