Scripture: This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:10-11 NIV Application: Love must be demonstrated by action. We can't be loving and not giving. Not just in the limited sense of €$¥ giving, but in ways that God will show us where our love can do the world some transformative good. Each of us will be unique. But love just cannot be contained. It bursts forth. It needs to act. Just as God couldn't stand to see us self-destruct and be forever separated from Him. He acted. "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him." (1 John 4:9) Likewise, when we love, we do. Prayer: Father, first, we thank You for putting Your love for us into action in a Way that we all needed and are saved by. Now, each of us has a unique way to show our love to a world that desperately needs it. Show us how. Encourage us. Amen. Comments are closed.
