Scripture: Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge. Ruth 2:11,12 (NIV) Application: When we do good for others, we need not sound a trumpet in hope that we'll get a reward. Eventually, our reputations (good or bad) will travel. We do things that are right simply because they are the right things to do. God will ensure that we are blessed, right here on earth, and by people whom we never thought have heard our names. Prayer: Father God, we have confidence in You, and not our own deeds. We pray that our hearts will remain pure and act for the good of others without seeking credit from the world. Amen.
