Scripture: “(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)” Romans 2:14,15 (NIV) “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6 (NIV) “For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans 1:19, 20 (NIV) “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20 (NIV) Application: Look around. We are social beings. Things go horribly wrong when one of us drops out of healthy social relationships. Our consciences are troubled. Our compassion for fellow human beings crumbles. We self-destruct. But those are dire symptoms of a deeper, more sinister issue: Being out of relationship with God. There lies the root cause of all moral decay, social imbalance, and self-hatred. There’s a remedy available to anyone: Go back to God. God created the Way back to Him the moment we committed the first sin. There’s One Way to God—not many Ways, ONE Way. Jesus Christ. True, each of us may find Jesus through a unique route, but once we “find” Him (or better yet, open the door to allow Him into our hearts), He is the Only Way back into fellowship with God. Want proof? Look around. Prayer: Father God, we are surrounded by every indication of Your existence. We see, know, and feel Your creation and Your love. We also see the misery that comes from not being in fellowship with You. Through Jesus, we pray to be always in a healthy relationship with You, and we offer ourselves as routes to show others the Way to Jesus. Amen. Comments are closed.
