Scripture: But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Luke 5:16 NIV And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matt. 6:7,8 (NIV) Application: We should avoid allowing worries to invade our prayer time. Worries like to masquerade as eloquent prayers, "cheating" our prayer time by becoming a poetic recitation of all the things we could worry about. God already knows our needs and wants (Matt. 6:8) Rather, use prayer time to fall into synch with God. Focus on His Word and open ourselves to be in line to receive His plan, which is always good. Prayer: Father, right now, we choose to focus on Your plans and blessings for us, and not our problems. We hand them over to You and trust that You will fulfill every one of our needs. Amen.
