Scripture: Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV Application: It didn't begin with reality shows. Many millennia ago, there came the first whisper of gossip. Or perhaps it was the first uncaring gawk at someone in need. Right then, another person's misery transformed into something others took delight in witnessing. Over time, in order to maintain the spectacle, truth was twisted. Sympathy was withheld. And like a wicked creation, the cold hearts of the hearers and onlookers hardened. God wants us to break the tradition of making others' misery our entertainment. Prayer: Father, craft us into compassionate people. Touch our hearts when we drift toward enjoying the hardships of others. Amen. Comments are closed.
