Scripture: What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8 NIV Application: Ivy League degrees and Wall Street paychecks won't make any of us happy for long. Anesthetized, yes, but it'll all wear thin. We can get a heady high from the fumes of worldly success and suddenly wake up to the realization that fumes aren't sustainable. But one phrase from our lips tips the balance: "Lord Jesus, save me!" We may keep our degrees and income, there's nothing per se wrong with all that, but we'll no longer count them as anything more than garbage in the grand scheme of things. And if we lose the world's favor, or voluntarily walk away from the trappings of clout, we won't be lost. After all, it's just stepping over the garbage and into the Kingdom. Prayer: Delight us, Lord, in Your glory forever. Amen. Comments are closed.
