No way in a million years would this work...except for God's Way.

Scripture:
"Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had ordained to thwart the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the Lord might bring calamity on Absalom. '2 Samuel 17:14


Application:
God has a way of confounding the plans of the unGodly. Even the best of strategies will fail if God determines to protect His beloved. So it was with the case of David. There was no doubt that the battle strategy of David's enemy, Ahithophel, was superior to that of David's ally, Hushai. But God caused the leader of David's opposition, his own son Absalom, to follow the erroneous advice of Hushai. Not only did Absalom suffer defeat, but also his primary advice-giver, Ahithophel, committed suicide. Worse yet, David's son Absalom was killed in a way that seems like it was entirely preventable. But all this worked to protect God's anointed, David.
Never believe the odds of man when God is working His divine will. What seems impossible will happen in ways that we cannot in our best of plans achieve. Stick with God's plan. Seek God's direction. Victory will come 100% of the time.


Prayer:
Lord, it's hard for us to keep our faith in the plans You have for us as we look at our opposition. But we take the promises You've made in scripture to heart and will rely on them instead of looking at the probabilities of worldly success. This is our faith. Guide us and encourage us. Amen.
