Scripture: "Strike them with terror, Lord; let the nations know they are only mortal." Psalms 9:20 NIV "Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." Psalms 9:10 NIV "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV Application: The Psalms have so much more world relevance today than most anytime most of us can recall in our lives. Our mortality is made obvious with the COVID-19 plague that affects the whole world. There's no strong and consistent leadership in the world that honors God in word or deed. But should we despair? For the lost, the stubborn, the arrogant, yes, but with hope and prayer, because the same salvation we have is freely available to them. Pray for them. But there's no reason to despair for us who are saved. We will have tribulations, but Christ has overcome the world, and we are under His yoke. He never will forsake us. Our mortality is not a liability. It's a gift cared for tenderly by the Lord. Comments are closed.
