Scripture: “Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”....“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.” Luke 1:18, 34, 38 (NIV) Application: When God announces His blessings upon us, it's natural to be surprised. After all, we live in the human realm primarily in this life. But don't let surprise give way to skepticism. Skepticism won't necessarily cause God to take away His blessings, but as with Zechariah, God may quiet the skeptics. Literally. It's better to be like Mary. We may confess our wonderment of how God will perform His incredible works, but in the end, we should accept that His limitless abilities are beyond human comprehension. Prayer: Prepare us, Lord, to be mentally ready to experience and praise Your incredible miracle-working powers in our lives. Amen. Comments are closed.
