Scripture: Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. And they took offense at him...But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.” And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. Matthew 13:54, 57-58 NIV Application: We'd hate it if we visited a place where we grew up and the same old residents and family placed us in our toddlers clothes, fed us baby food, and gurgled at us as if we spoke only baby talk. We'd think they were crazy. But an even crazier thing would be for us to regress to behaving as toddlers. Jesus has incredibly big plans for us. It makes no difference how old we are (think: Abraham, Sarah, and Moses), or the limitations or mistakes of our past (think: anyone). When we became Christians, we tossed off our small existences and expanded into a kingdom of unlimited possibilities. Pray each day that Jesus will reveal our great possibilities. And then, don't try to stuff Him in our cramped boxes of impossibilities. Prayer: Father, help me live by Your rules of unlimited possibilities every day. In Jesus' name, Amen. Comments are closed.
