Scripture:
The cities will be for you a place of refuge from the close relative of the dead. The person who killed someone may not be put to death until he stands before the community for judgment.
Numbers 35:12 CEB

Application:
The only true justice that exists comes from God. We should seek God's direction and afford everyone, including murderers, a safe place to stay pending a fair hearing, trial, judgment, and sentence, and afterward, a fair rehabilitated life among us as a productive and hopefully forgiven member of society.

God wanted this to protect you, too.

Prayer:
Fairness and forgiveness go hand in hand, and we pray for Your direction, dear Lord, so that we will be fair toward those who break our civil and criminal laws. Amen.
