Scripture:
“Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man’s wife? Why embrace the bosom of a wayward woman? For your ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all your paths. The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast. For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly.” Proverbs 5:15, 20-23 (NIV) Application: How weird it is that this world hardly blinks at marital cheating. So-called "love songs" are written about it, films glamorize it, and friends gloat about it as if adultery were another conquest, like mountain climbing. But adultery always comes at an expensive price, and not just in the hereafter.
The lesson is as old as mankind: be faithful to your spouse. If there are problems, get counseling, try to work out a solution, and pray, pray, and pray again not to be led into temptation. Don't make the journey into hell only to discover there's no one better out there for you. If you've sinned against your spouse, get your act together: repent and repair. Prayer: Dear God, please help families. I see now that all are assaulted from outside, but the demons that destroy from inside are the worst. Help my family stay strong. Keep us faithful to one another. Help us build a strong tie to each other that never fails. We want to encourage others to be faithful as well. Thank You for giving us families, and for forgiving wayward family members when they repent. Amen.
