Scripture: "...Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.'" Daniel 10:12-13 Application: Let's find comfort in Daniel. Sometimes it helps just knowing that others understand what we go through while we are waiting. When we pray we usually want God's answer and blessings right away. That doesn't always occur, and sometimes it's not because we have done anything wrong. We Christians should not put ourselves on a guilt trip (or allow others to put us on a guilt trip) just because our prayers are not answered. Sometimes we stay sick longer than we should. Sometimes we're without money despite having done everything right. Sometimes, merely because of how we are born, we are persecuted. We want relief. Right away. We often pray that others get relief, and right away. Daniel instructs us that God always hears our prayers--and right away--but His answer will not always be manifested right away. We know that He could, but there are impediments. These are not always our fault. Sometimes the devil blocks God's response. But like with Daniel, God's response is never too late. As we wait, let's keep the faith. Being detained is not being denied. Prayer: God, please help us to maintain our faith while we wait on Your answer. Amen. Comments are closed.
