Scripture:
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matthew 5:13 (NIV) Application: We Christians have a special calling. We’re salt. Salt is a preservative. The world is being preserved by our prayers and Godly deeds. Salt also makes food taste better. Without us, wouldn’t this be a horrid world? Finally, in the Middle East, salt is used in bread making to re-ignite fire after it dies down. When we spread God’s Word, the world catches fire with enthusiasm. Keep salty, and listen to Jesus to keep your own fires burning. Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for calling me the salt of the earth. Show me every day how to keep my passion for You burning, and lead me in prayer and action to help persuade this world to love You. Amen.
