Scripture:
“Do not reject me! Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me!” Psalm 51:11 (NET) Application: Of all the bad things that can happen to us, none would be worse than having God take His Holy Spirit away from us. The Holy Spirit is God. He is not an object, He is living, thriving, leading, protecting, and loving. Without the Holy Spirit, a king becomes a depressed madman, as with Saul (1 Samuel 16:14). With the Holy Spirit, a shepherd boy becomes a king (1 Samuel 16:13). That’s why David, even knowing that he would be punished for his wrongdoings, pleaded that God not snatch away His Holy Spirit. Be thankful. Be a good host. Welcome God’s Holy Spirit inside you. Don’t do evil works against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32) or take this most precious gift for granted. When nothing else seems to go right, He is there for you. Prayer: Dear Father, You’ve been so good to me. I’m honored that You have found me suitable to carry Your Holy Spirit within me. Help me let Your Spirit thrive!
