Scripture: “You are just in these judgments, O Holy One, you who are and who were; for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.” Revelation 16:5,6 (NIV) Application: It's hurtful to read Revelation when we see the punishments being put on human beings. But remember this: God is hurt more than we are. He wants everyone to repent of sins and change so that they can all live in peace. But as hard as it is to believe, there are some very evil people now and in history who have no desire to live in peace. They want to hurt, maim, and kill you, me, and every other person who strives to live holy. These evil people choose to be evil on their own free will. What should be done? We must believe that God has tried everything possible to turn these people around. And in the last days, He will continue to try to bring them around. But because He loves us so much that He doesn't create robots to do His will, He will allow them to go to hell and before then, suffer the calamities described so vividly in Revelation. Prayer: Lord, our God, we believe that You are just and fair, and that You love every person in creation. We know that there is a time coming when, despite Your helping everyone to change, repent, confess their sins, and come into Your family, some will be hard-hearted, and not because You or anyone else made them that way. To that we say, may Your will be done. Amen. Comments are closed.
