God's ready, but are we?

Scripture:
“When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.” Exodus 13:17-18 (NIV)


Application:
"Why is it taking God so long?" we ask. Maybe we aren't prepared to handle what's ahead. Perhaps if God unleashed the harsh cruelties of a devil-ruled world upon us, we'd lose heart and quit.
Let's take the road God puts us on, and let's take it at the pace He sets for us. After all, He made all roads, and directs us on the ones ideal for us.

We know, dear Father, that You want us to succeed. Thank You so much for looking out for us, especially when we don't look out for ourselves. Amen.
