Scripture:
“Then he prayed, “ Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. May it be that when I say to a young woman, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.” Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.” Genesis 24:12, 14-15 (NIV) Application: It's said that when Abraham's unnamed servant prayed to God for a sign that the woman he would choose for his master's son's wife was the right woman, his was the first prayer in the Bible that asked for Godly confirmation. It was a high standard: He asked that the right woman would draw forth about 250 gallons of water for ten camels! The lesson is applicable today: Nothing is too hard for God. We should dream enormously big dreams and expect God to be there with everything we need for success. Just one condition: Make sure our big, enormous dreams are for the glory of our Master, not ourselves. Prayer: Dear Father, inspire me to seek higher goals than I've ever sought before. Equip me to achieve every one of them, believing that in them, Your will shall be done, Your kingdom shall come, in every corner of the earth, as it is in heaven. Amen.
