Scripture: But the Israelites said to the Lord , “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.” Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer. Judges 10:15-16 NIV Application: No one is spared of pain and misery in life. World events have a way of visiting our doorstep faster than we could ever have imagined. At the same time, we all slide into some form of idolatry, i.e. devoting our faith in something other than our loving God. That hurts Him. But He lets us go down that wrong path if we choose. That's when we find ourselves in deep trouble. But if we come to our senses and repent, God is relieved. He will rescue us. Never believe that He ever will leave us as lost causes. Our saving may not be exactly as we would script it, but we will be saved, and we will be grateful knowing that He heard and answered our prayers of repentance. Pray now, and don't forget to pray for others, too. Prayer: Father God, we regret that our misplaced freedom has led us away from You. We're sorry we hurt You and we want to come back. We rely on Your promise to rescue us. Thank You. As You've done for us, please show the whole world Your love by rescuing anyone and everyone who changes their wrong ways and walks into Your open arms. Amen. Comments are closed.
