Scripture:
“Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.” Proverbs 16:31 (NIV) “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV) Application: I just attended a birthday party for a person turning sixty. The birthday girl's remarkable life never allowed age to be separated from its benefits: the triumph of righteousness. In her, in all of us, righteousness is something that youth obscures. But year-by-year, it is being slowly revealed, peeled back annually like ripening fruit, radiating more for the world to see. Prayer: Dear God, please make me age with grace and never regard another year as a decaying curse, but as a blooming blessing. Amen.
