Scripture:
When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust.
Jonah 3:6 NIV

Application:
If we want to change what's going to happen to us, we have to get down to earth and change our attitude. Cast away pretentiousness. Dismiss our pride. All those things we've done--the evil and impure, the unfaithful and corrupt--all of them, have to be taken to the Lord for Him to wash away. But it begins with our getting down to earth. Be real.

Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, we remove the high-mindedness from ourselves and come to You as we are for healing. We don't want to suffer the punishment we deserve for living corrupt lives. We repent and honor You. Amen.
