Scripture:
“Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” Revelation 12:4, 9 (NIV) Application: We often focus on Satan's rebellion against God, resulting in the Devil being cast down from heaven. Rightfully so. But how often do we concentrate on the other fallen angels? These are angels of lesser power and cunning who decided to reject God and follow Satan. Like us, they had free will. What motivated them? Was it Satan's as slyness that tricked them as he tricked Eve and Adam? Was it their pride and jealousy, like Satan's, that made them want to be as great as God? There's little in the Bible that exposes these fallen angels' motivation, but one thing is for certain: Like their doomed leader, they had a horrible fate. Be careful who you follow. Listen only to God. All others are ready to seduce you toward disappointment and a fiery hell. Prayer: Dear God, please keep me from following the wrong leaders. Make their true objectives clear for me and others who really want to be Your children.
