Scripture: "'As she kept on praying to the Lord , Eli observed her mouth. and said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine.” “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord . Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.” Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk." 1 Samuel 1:12-16 (NIV) Application: Sometimes even when we observe someone with our own eyes, we're poised to criticize them. It's best to take a step back, ponder other explanations, and perhaps ask that person what's really going on in their life. That's what we'd want done toward us, isn't it? Prayer: Dear Father, only You know the whole story. Give us the time, patience, and wisdom to withhold unjust judgment upon each other. Amen. Comments are closed.
