Scripture: "And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows—how, he himself does not know. The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head." Mark 4:26-28 NASB Application : We all have something we want to do. Maybe travel, find a friend or spouse, graduate from school, save for retirement, or become part of a meaningful institution. We don't have to see this plan all the way through. We have to plant the seed. Do something that heads in that direction. Then, it's okay to get away from the activity. While we sleep, God sets things in motion. The plan begins to sprout. When we feel it's time to cultivate, do a little something more. Then wait. We won't see it, but as we do other things, that plan is sprouting. Don't dig it up, replant it, or fuss around with the soil. Don't doubt the sprout. Prayer: Father, as we plant, we have faith that You are causing our plans to sprout and grow. Amen.
