Scripture: Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, Matthew 20:25-26 NIV Application: No one wants a "come to Jesus meeting" where He calls us and says, in His way, "stop being a self-centered jerk." But He very well may call us for that reason. His way of telling us we're being jerks might be in a dream. Maybe in a humiliating interaction with a store clerk or waiter. Or a competitive interaction with a co-worker, boss, or employee. Perhaps with a family member or friend, maybe? Whenever we think we should be served and not serving others is probably a time that we're being a jerk. That includes times when we're paying for service. Think about it. Come to Jesus. Prayer: Thank You for bringing to our attention when we are carrying around the wrong attitude about service, Lord. Please, gently help us get back in the right attitude. Amen. Comments are closed.
