Scripture:
“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love...I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. "Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” 2 John 1:6-7, 9 (NIV) Application: When you want to know where a person stands on Christianity, don't be deceived by fancy words. Ask this simple question: Does the person believe Jesus is the Son of God, and that Jesus already has come to earth, died for our sins, and arisen from the dead? If anyone refuses to believe this truth, they are not Christian and don't have God in them. At best, they may be "nice" according to the world's standards, but they are not walking in accordance with Godly love. At worst, they are deceivers along the order of the antichrist, and toxic to all that is Godly. This is not meant to break down, but to build. When we walk in accord with these facts about Who Jesus is, we walk in true love. Believing leads to acting, and acting creates more love in the world as we behave in harmony with God's Holy Word. Prayer: My dear loving Father God, I want what You want: to fill Your kingdom with people possessing love that is of You. Help me see clearly the signs of Your people and Your teachings. Help me help others to not be deceived by personalities and doctrines that sound good, but are actually unGodly. In truth, I want to be so abundantly filled with Your love that Your presence in me overflows and brings more people to You! Thank You, and Amen.
