Scripture:
'Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. '
Proverbs 31:9-10

Application:
Wow. If you're lucky, you may recall a loving parent (mom, dad, grand, surrogate) or inspirational mentor saying something like this: "...defend the rights of the afflicted and needy." That person may not have used those exact words, but that script probably was written on their heart. ("I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts." Jer. 31:33).

Prayer:
Show me today how I can best serve the poor and oppressed with the resources I have. Amen Lord.
