Scripture: “Abner conferred with the elders of Israel and said, ‘For some time you have wanted to make David your king. Now do it! For the Lord promised David, ‘By my servant David I will rescue my people Israel from the hand of the Philistines and from the hand of all their enemies.’ ”2 Samuel 3:17,18 (NIV) Application: When we as Christians decided to follow Jesus and forsake all others, we made the best decision of all. But what about our daily lives? We should strive to be decisive. This isn’t the same as being foolhardy, but to take action after studying an issue for a reasonable amount of time. Not too long….just reasonable. Like Abner in the 2 Samuel 3, we have to be able to say, “Now do it!” to anyone (especially ourselves) and get on with it. Prayer: Dear Lord, I want to be decisive; to let my yes be yes and no be no. Help me live the life of certainty, even in this uncertain world. Amen. Comments are closed.
