Scripture:
“Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Joshua 5:13, 14 (NIV) Application: Billy Graham, who died today at the age of 99, often was asked to take sides on United States and international political issues. He had a good answer: “I'm just going to preach the Gospel and am not going to get off on all these hot-button issues. If I get on these other subjects, it divides the audience on an issue that is not the issue I'm promoting. I'm just promoting the Gospel,” and “there's nothing coming out of Washington or any of those places that are going to save the world or transform men and women. It's Christ.” As Christians, there’s just One side to be on: Christ’s. Prayer: Dear Lord, help us focus on serving You, not politics. Amen.
