Blessed despite our unrighteousness.

Scripture:
“It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 9:5 (NIV)


Application:
We're blessed not because we're righteous. Enemies are not destroyed because we're righteous. The possessions of the wicked aren't given to us because we're righteous. It's all because of the world's wickedness and God's covenant to our ancestors. That should humble us.


Prayer:
Dear Father, we're thankful that You have grafted us into your chosen people, and that through the blood of Christ, we are made righteous in Your eyes. We pray that through our devotion to You, and the Word You have given, the whole world will honor and love You. Amen.
