Scriptural reference:
“Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” John 13:3-5 NIV Application: Our customary idea of a confident person is someone who charges out in front, speaking boldly, and leading others. Wrong. Confidence is knowing who you are and taking on the role of servant. Jesus, the most confident Person to ever walk the earth, didn't mind being mistaken for a foot-washer. Follow His lead. So, instead of defending your own honor today, humbly assume a subordinate role and do or say something that builds up an outcast. Prayer: Dear God, please remind me that when I lower myself to serve others, I am raising myself in Your eyes.
